Simon Kent - BVSc CertVC MRCVS

Simon Kent

Simon joined the practice in September 2000 and formed the present partnership with Katy in January 2002 when the previous principal, Reg Balmer, retired.

Simon qualified from Liverpool in 1988. His career started in a mixed practice North of Birmingham, before spending a year in Fiji, working for a charity. Operating in hotel bedrooms and tribal village huts, certainly has taught him to appreciate the veterinary facilities in White Hart Lane.

Simon has a certificate in Veterinary Cardiology, and accepts referrals from other local practices for their more complex cardiac cases.

Initially a general examination and stethoscope check will be needed. Depending on the suspected condition further assessments with Electrocardiogram, Ultra-sound and X-ray may then be required. These facilities are all available within the practice.

Simon Kent examines a dog's heart

We have recently acquired a colour flow doppler ultrasound machine which will greatly enhance our diagnostic capability. This will be able to measure blood flow in various parts of the heart. This will be used along side our x-ray and electrocardiography facilities to aid our clinical assessment of our patients.
